Does Pro Clubs track the pass before the assist?
EA credits one pass per goal and it is the last one. The match counters carry the pass before it, which is how the player who breaks the line finally gets counted.
Measured hereUpdated 15 August 2026 · from 440,614 archived players
The pass before the assist, decoded from the per-match counters. No total for it exists in anything EA publishes.
EA credits one pass, and it is the last one
Slide the ball through the lines, watch a team-mate square it, watch the team-mate who squared it take the assist. You get nothing. The season totals hold one creative column and it belongs to whoever touched the ball last before the finish.
The game is less forgetful than its own record-keeping. Every match arrives with a block of numbered counters EA labels nowhere, and one of those numbers is a second assist — checked against the post-match screen it appears on, which is also where it stops. Leave the lobby and it is gone.
The whole distribution
Every measured player in the archive, sorted. The right column is a rate per 90 minutes and the left is the share of players you are ahead of.
| You are better than | Second assists / 90 |
|---|---|
| 50% of players | 0.16 |
| 60% of players | 0.24 |
| 70% of players | 0.32 |
| 80% of players | 0.45 |
| 90% of players | 0.63 |
| 95% of players | 0.80 |
| 99% of players | 1.22 |
0.63 per 90 is the top tenth. It is a small number in absolute terms, and so is an assist rate — the pass before the pass has to survive two more touches to count for anything, which is exactly why so few of them land.

What a low number here can mean
Counters do not arrive on every match. Some rows come back with events that cannot account for the player’s own passing, and those are thrown away rather than read as a quiet night; small-sided games are most of them. The rate divides by the time the counters were actually sent rather than by a whole career, because dividing by the career would report everybody as creating less than they do.
A player the archive has never measured is absent from this ranking. Not at the bottom of it.
What still does not exist
Key passes, chances created, expected assists, progressive passes, touches: none of these are in anything EA sends, and decoding cannot invent what was never transmitted. Four counters have been checked against the game’s own screens — interceptions, dribbles, crosses and second assists. That is the whole list, and anything beyond it on a Pro Clubs site is somebody’s estimate wearing the clothes of a measurement.
Questions people ask
- Does Pro Clubs track second assists?
- EA publishes no total for it — nothing on the player card, nothing in the season figures. The count is in the per-match event data, and decoded across the archive the median measured player makes 0.16 second assists per 90 minutes.
- What is a good second assist rate in Pro Clubs?
- 0.63 per 90 puts you in the top ten per cent of measured players, and 1.22 in the top one per cent. Read it beside your assists rather than instead of them, because the two describe different jobs in the same move.
- Are key passes and chances created tracked in Pro Clubs?
- No. Those do not exist anywhere in what EA sends, and neither does expected assists. Four counters have been checked against the game’s own post-match screen — interceptions, dribbles, crosses and second assists — and everything beyond them that you see on a Pro Clubs site is somebody’s estimate.
